March at SubCulture: Recap
March was a great month for SubCulture, showcasing every kind of event and programming we love to have on our stage. From podcasts to productions and comedy to classical music, we’ve truly become a home for people who want to connect and build community around their passions.
Here are just a few of our highlights from the worlds of business, culture, comedy, and music:
Melody Hahm and the Yahoo Breakouts crew brought another entrepreneurial journey to light through her interview with Nicole Gibbons, the founder and CEO of Clare. For those who don’t know, Yahoo Breakouts is a monthly, live-streamed conversation with rising stars and emerging leaders at the world’s most dynamic companies. Keep an eye out for upcoming shows and join the audience for a future taping.
Malcolm Gladwell was a featured guest for the inaugural episode of a soon-to-be-released podcast called, “Canadians Among Us: Cansplaining with Jeff Breithaupt”. To share stories from this conversation wouldn’t do them justice, but it suffices to say that even for the Americans among us, our northern neighbors continue to have an outsized influence on our popular culture. Sign up for our email list to get first notice on future guests and dates.
The Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) entered its second month of a regular weekend schedule with shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Seeing today’s best talent in comedy bring their unfiltered performances to the stage and hearing audience laughter fill the room has been a great way for us to close out each week. Check out the upcoming schedule and join us for a show!
Jason Robert Brown was joined by Broadway legend Lillias White for Jason’s 47th Artist-in-Residence concert at SubCulture. It’s hard to imagine the SubCulture stage without JRB and the band delighting our audience each month with their talent, their guests, and their incomparable performances. They make SubCulture feel like the place we want it to be, a place for the artist in all of us. Join us for April’s show featuring Alysha Umphress.
Whatever your passion, we’ve got great programming ahead, so check out April’s calendar and grab a ticket. We’d love to see you here!
